I qualified as a nurse in 1987 and worked in various operating theatres across the South East of England, working in all areas of trauma, orthopaedics, vascular, kidney transplant, urology and general surgery. Once in Cornwall I worked as a community nurse and helped set up the pain clinic at Penrice hospital. I re-trained as a natural therapist in 1996, and commenced work at the local hospice as the complimentary therapies co-ordinator in 1998, where I developed and manged a team of therapists. It was here that I was instrumental in developing policies and procedures for the use of therapies in hospice movements, locally, nationally and internationally. I was the first UK speaker/tutor in Taiwan, Italy and East Malaysia, to introduce complimentary therapies into hospice care. In 2008, I was appointed as Head of Therapies, then Therapeutic Lead & Practice Tutor in a large caring organisation specialising in dementia care. I now work as a freelance tutor and consultant within the health & social care sector, supporting organisations with
